DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION IN SCIENCE
I am a strong advocate for increasing the diversity and inclusivity of science fields. As such, I have been involved in a variety of initiatives. Currently I am part of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources DEI work team and help support training and resource efforts. I was also the lead organizer for the Undergraduate Diversity at Evolution Program in 2016-2017 and the Ecology/Evolution events at the Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) national conference from 2017-2019. You can read more about the SACNAS events from 2016 (symposium, field trip/movie night) and 2018 (symposium).
